Lake Macquarie and Central Coast Coal Ash Community Forum

July 11 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

The two coal-fired power stations beside Lake Macquarie don’t just pollute our air, they also pollute water and land in both Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast.

Toxic coal ash sludge is being left to sit and leak into Lake Macquarie where our families fish and our children swim. When it is left to dry out, winds can blow the toxic dust onto nearby communities where people breathe it in.

Most people have no idea how badly regulated and how risky these toxic dumps are.

Join us for a special forum at Wangi Workers’ Club to learn more about coal ash pollution and solutions to protect the community.

Speakers include:
• Bronya Lipski, Lawyer & Coal Ash Report expert, Environmental Justice Australia
• Jacqui Mumford, Lead Organiser, Nature Conservation Council of NSW
• Johanna Lynch, Hunter Community Environment Centre Coordinator

All political representatives from the local councils, state, and federal parliament are invited to attend.

This event is jointly hosted by Environmental Justice Australia, Hunter Community Environment Centre, and the Nature Conservation Council of NSW.
